How To Heal Your Own Chakra

Remember that chakras are the seven energy centers inside our bodies, located up and down the spine. When chakras are imbalanced, our bodies and moods are affected. In order to be in perfect harmony, our energies must be healed and balanced.

The goal with healing our chakras is to achieve balance and congruence with one’s spirit and body. When we do this, we feel grounded, healthy, and enlightened.

Here are some ways you can heal your own chakras through different frequencies: light, sound, food, the senses, and crystals. We will go into much deeper detail about these in subsequent blog posts.

Healing Chakras through Light

Each chakra has a different color of light associated with it. To heal a particular chakra, add more of that color into your life via clothes, foods, pictures, etc.

  1. The Root Chakra – red light
  2. The Sacral Chakra – orange light
  3. The Solar Plexus Chakra – yellow light
  4. The Heart Chakra – green light
  5. The Throat Chakra – blue light
  6. The Brow Chakra (a.k.a The Third Eye) –indigo light
  7. The Crown Chakra – violet light

Healing Chakras through Sound

Like light, each chakra has a different sound or chant associated with it. Try some quiet meditation: find a quiet place to sit comfortably with your back straight, breathe deeply, and chant the sound for the chakra you need to heal. Do this for at least a few minutes, and try to keep your mind focused on that chakra. They all are pronounced as “__OM.”

  1. The Root Chakra – “LAM”
  2. The Sacral Chakra – “VAM”
  3. The Solar Plexus Chakra – “RAM”
  4. The Heart Chakra – “YAM”
  5. The Throat Chakra – “HAM”
  6. The Brow Chakra (a.k.a The Third Eye) – “OM”
  7. The Crown Chakra – “OM”

Healing Chakras through Foods

A healthy diet is just as important for our minds and spirits as it is for our bodies. Here are some ideas for foods that you can eat on your own to help balance your energies.

  1. The Root Chakra – red foods such as tomatoes strawberries; root vegetables such as carrots and turnips; protein-rich food such as beans and lean meats
  2. The Sacral Chakra – orange foods such as peaches and oranges; nuts and seeds; and spices such as cinnamon
  3. The Solar Plexus Chakra – yellow foods such as bananas and lemons; complex carbs and whole grains such as oats and brown rice
  4. The Heart Chakra – green, raw foods such as spinach, broccoli, and kiwi
  5. The Throat Chakra – blue foods such as blueberries; soothing foods and liquids such as herbal teas and coconut water
  6. The Brow Chakra (a.k.a The Third Eye) – purple foods such as purple grapes and purple kale; cocao
  7. The Crown Chakra – meditation herbs or essential oils such as juniper, lavender, and sage

Healing Chakras through the Senses

Being present-minded and mindful of our senses is very important for chakra cleansing. Each chakra is associated with a different sense. The five senses are associated with our first five energies, and the last two energies are associated with spiritual senses. To balance a chakra, focus on that particular sense.

  1. The Root Chakra – sense of smell; scent
  2. The Sacral Chakra – sense of taste; appetite
  3. The Solar Plexus Chakra – sense of sight; vision
  4. The Heart Chakra – sense of feeling; touch
  5. The Throat Chakra – sense of hearing; listening
  6. The Brow Chakra (a.k.a The Third Eye) – sense of intuition; insight
  7. The Crown Chakra – sense of empathy; unity

Healing Chakras through Crystals

  1. The Root Chakra
  2. The Sacral Chakra
  3. The Solar Plexus Chakra
  4. The Heart Chakra
  5. The Throat Chakra
  6. The Brow Chakra (a.k.a The Third Eye)
  7. The Crown Chakra
